Like many parents, I started with the best intentions. I wanted to be “gentle.” I didn’t want to yell. But I found myself stuck in a cycle of pleading, negotiating, and eventually exploding.

The “Gentle” Trap

I realized that “Gentle Parenting” often lacked structure. I felt like a doormat. On the other hand, “Authoritarian Parenting” lacked warmth. I didn’t want my kids to fear me.

I needed something in the middle. Something sturdy.

Discovery: Sturdy Leadership

My research took me to Finland, Japan, and Scandinavia. I discovered that these cultures don’t choose between warmth and boundaries—they have both. They practice what I call Sturdy Leadership.

Now, I translate these cultural frameworks into actionable scripts for parents who are tired of the chaos.
